Maximising Space with Bespoke Fitted Furniture
As part of a new home extension, our customer had a clear vision for transforming an alcove space into a practical yet stylish fitted storage solution.
Previously, the space was home to a freestanding unit used to store their record collection, record player and speakers. While functional, it left valuable space unused. The aim was to create a bespoke fitted unit that would maximise the full width and height of the alcove, while providing dedicated storage for their vinyl collection and a practical area for their music equipment.
Designed around the customer....
Working closely with the customer, we designed a made-to-measure furniture solution specifically for the space and the way it would be used.
The finished unit incorporates:
- Dedicated open storage for the customer's record collection
- A generous work surface for the record player and speakers
- Multiple drawers for additional storage
- Open shelving for displaying equipment and personal items
- Upper cupboards providing useful concealed storage
- Soft-close drawer runners and cupboard hardware
- Integrated LED lighting, carefully positioned within diffusers to provide an even, consistent light across the shelving
Every element was considered to make the most of the available space while keeping the overall design clean, simple and in keeping with the newly created extension.
Hand Built & Professionally Finished
The unit was designed and hand built to the exact dimensions of the alcove, ensuring a truly fitted appearance with minimal gaps and clean lines throughout.
Once constructed, the furniture was professionally painted to achieve a smooth, durable finish that complements the surrounding interior.
We then completed the installation on site, carefully fitting the furniture, finishing trims and integrated lighting to create a seamless built-in finish.
A Bespoke Solution for Everyday Living
The result is a completely transformed alcove that combines storage, display and a dedicated music area within one beautifully integrated piece of furniture.
By replacing the original freestanding unit with a bespoke design, the customer has been able to make full use of the available space while creating a much more considered and finished look within their extension.
